Our vacation this year was a trip to our lake house at Compass Lake. Beside the five of us, my mom, dad, and youngest brother were also there with us. The kids loved playing in the water. My favorite part of spending time at the lake is either sitting on the swing watching the sun set, or playing a game of canasta.
At the first of the week, both kids were a little timid in the water. My dad, Tom and I all worked with both kids to make them more comfortable. Neither have had swimming lessons, so we kept life jackets on them most of the time. By the end of the week, Lucius would put his life jacket on and would run and jump off the dock in water over his head! Maggie would jump too, but only to her Mommy, Daddy, or Pops!
Abbie Grace spent most of her time inside with Nana, but there were a couple of times that we had her out on the porch while Tom was working.
By dinner time, the kids would be so worn out! That's the great thing about being in the water all day...Lucius and Maggie were in bed early every night! A couple of times, Maggie didn't even make it to bed before she was asleep!!!
Lucius asks just about every other day when will we be going back. I feel the same way. I do wish that we were able to go at a moments notice, but life is just so busy! We do have a couple of weekends planned in July though and I am counting the days...along with Lucius.

I love that picture of the kids falling asleep at the dinner table! That's a perfect shot of vacation! So sweet. We are headed back down south on Saturday and I can't wait! And I have to know how you play Canasta??
awe!!! my sweet mags!! lol we played canasta when we went down last too =) cant leave the lake with out getting at least one game in!!! =)
