Today I went to see the baby doctor. Everything still looks great. My doctor always brings in a small ultrasound machine in to the room when I have my checkup. I was able to see Abbie's little hands and feet. I even got to see her heart beating. It's so amazing to see. Each birth is amazing and I never get tired of seeing my babies on the monitor. Abbie's heartbeat was good and strong at 123. I am now at the point where I will see my doctor every two weeks.
I also have an appointment with my lung doctor from Pensacola in two weeks. It's my six month check-up. Usually at this check up I would have an x-ray to check on my lung, but since I'm pregnant I'll have to wait. After I have the baby and can travel, I will be heading back to Pensacola for either a ct-scan or pet-scan. If you can believe it, I haven't had one since before I had my surgery. At the time I should have had my post-surgery scan, I found out I was pregnant with Maggie. Then my next appointment was scheduled so far out that I was pregnant with Abbie before we could schedule a scan.
But don't worry. My doctor and I are not concerned about the lack of a test. The type of cancer that I had does not typically reoccur....basically it gets removed and you're okay. But, it does give me peace of mind to be able to take the test and get the all clear result back.
