So these are the two words that I am hearing from Miss Pris every time I turn around. She has recently started to exercise her right of independence and she's only sixteen months! I thought that wasn't supposed to start until at least sixteen years.
Yesterday morning while I was trying to put her shoes on, Maggie started with her "No Mommy" (Pronounced Mah-ME). So I let her try three or four times until she finally gave up and handed me the shoes.
After bath time last night, Maggie needed to go down stairs to take her medicine and breathing treatment. I tried to hold her hand as we went down the stairs and here came another "No Mommy." She wanted to scoot down the stairs like her big brother.
But the time that she wants her independence the most is during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She REALLY like to feed herself now. And I will hear "No Mommy" every time I even come close to trying to help her out. Now, I know that I should be happy that she is learning to do things herself, but I can't help but be sad that she is growing us so fast. I do know that it will be a big help when Abbie gets here for Maggie to be able to feed herself. After all, I don' have an arm for all three kids. (Yes....Lucius still wants his mommy to "food" him every once in a while."
