Baby Shower

This past weekend my grandmother (Bubby) and my brother's girlfriend (Courtney) gave me a baby shower. We were afraid that the weather would cause everyone to have to cancel. As it was, the shower was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon and we postponed to Sunday. But the new Sunday time worked for most people to be able to attend. My Bubby and Courtney made poppy seed sandwiches with pineapple filling.....yum and Punch.

Of course there were baby games. The first was the one where you start out with a clothes pin and if you say the word baby, then another person can take your clothes pin. The person with the most clothes pins at the end wins a prize. The second game we played was one where each person had to draw a picture of a baby. The Catch......you had to draw on top of your head. The winner for that was my cousin Sarah.

The last game was Baby Bingo. You had to write down every gift that you thought the mother would be getting (diapers, onesies, wipes, shoes, etc.) and if she received it, you got to mark it off your bingo sheet. We had four winners with that game.

Below is a picture of the 'diaper' cake that Courtney made. I was so impressed that she made it herself. I told her that she needed to start making them for showers and charging!!! It had two lovies, two pacies, shampoo in the very center, a picture frame on top, and best of all......lots of diapers.

For those of you that didn't know, we have changed the name from Abigail Lyn to Abigail Grace and we plan on calling her Abbie (although Lucius says we should call her Abbie Grace). And I had a hard time with switching to Grace because of what the monogram would look like. (Hint: ARG.......) Wouldn't you know when I let Brandon (my brother) look at the above picture he said :

Huh... ARG... Abbie can be a little pirate.

Leave it to a man!

Maggie had a great time. She got to play with her cousins Cate and Brayden. And she was an absolute sweat heart! She has acquired my love of petifores!!! You just can't have a GOOD shower with out petifores from Roland's Bakery.

I received LOTS of great gifts. Of course there were CUTE baby clothes and even a monogrammed onesie! I also got essentials like diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, diaper bags, etc.
We had a great time and I am blessed to have such thoughtful family and friends.
